The worlds tallest snowman is 113 feet 7 inches. The worlds tallest snow-woman is 122 feet 1 inch.

The beautiful town of Bethel, Maine is place where, apparently, the “common is uncommon”. Where Brooks Bros. sells pliers and wrenches, Victoria’s Secret is a chocolate raspberry desert and where Timberland Outlet is an exit for logging trucks. It’s also a place where they just love building whack-off great snowmen!
Built in 1998 and finished in 1999, this mammoth snowman smashed the previous record held by the Japanese town of Kuroishi, Aomori, which was a paltry 100 feet tall. It was given the rather grandiose moniker “Angus, King of the Mountain” and was meant to represent the then governor of Maine, Angus King. Though, Angus has a mustache and the snowman did not,…not that I’m complaining but if you’re going to do something…
The Worlds Largest Snow-Woman
In 2008, the town of Bethel did it again by creating yet another gargantuan snow structure, this time named ‘Olympia’ after a Maine born girl and one of time magazines top 10 senators, Olympia Jean Snowe, Senator of Maine. The huge snow-monster was 122 feet 1 inch tall and weighed over 9,000,000 pounds. The real Olympia must have felt profoundly honored by this gesture. So much so that she’s gone the extra mile and matched the frozen effigy by shaving her mustache off all together.
In a similar vein, did you know that the world largest recorded snowflake fell on 28 January 1887, measuring a massive 38 cm (15 in) across by 20 cm (8 in) thick, in Fort Keogh, Montana.
